English : Many IT students and professionals in Nepal lack a clear direction on what to build beyond learning existing technologies. Around the world, engineers are inventing new technologies, developing custom kernels, designing and testing new network protocols, building operating systems, creating compilers, databases, programming languages, and conducting research on the foundations of computing. In Nepal, however, many of us focus mainly on using existing frameworks and technologies to build web applications, CRUD systems, and client projects. While implementation is valuable, innovation should also be part of our vision. We shouldn't aim to be only consumers of technology we should strive to become creators of it. Nepal has talented developers who can contribute to core technologies, open-source software, operating systems, programming languages, developer tools, AI, networking, cybersecurity, and computer science research. Building the next generation of technology starts with believing that we can create it ourselves.

Roadmap

One network, two phases. No surprises.

The plan is public. Each phase ships when the one before it works — and you can watch the code as it happens.

  1. Join the registry

    Live now

IT professionals sign up with national ID + CV. OPM reviewers verify identity within 48 hours. Your profile — skills, district, GitHub — goes on the national registry.

  2. Connect with each other

    Next

Follow fellow developers, endorse skills you've seen first-hand, and connect with other verified members. A network where every profile is a real, checked person.

Skills directory

Find people by what they build with.

Every verified profile carries its skills as tags. Pick a tag to see who works with it — and every tag on their profile is a link onward.

Open source

What we're building right now — in public.

Every current project has a public repository. Read the code, open an issue, send a pull request — contribution is the point.

nepalconnectTypeScriptPublic

The network layer of Devs.Nepal — verified profiles, the skills directory, and (in phase two) member-to-member connections.

govtasksTypeScriptPublic

A public task board for government work items — every task, its assignee, and its status visible to anyone.

lotteryPythonPublic

Electronic lottery system for the Ministry of Finance — auditable draws with published, verifiable results.

Responsible disclosure

Found a vulnerability? Tell us first.

Devs.Nepal runs a disclosure programme for government systems — including this platform itself. If you find a security issue or a bug in DevCore or any listed project, report it directly and safely.

  1. Report

Submit through the secure disclosure form — anonymously if you prefer. Include steps to reproduce.

  2. Acknowledged

A reviewer confirms receipt and severity within 72 hours. Every report is audit-logged.

  3. Fixed & disclosed

We patch first, then publish the advisory together with you — no silent fixes.

  4. Credited

Researchers are credited publicly on the platform, or stay anonymous. Your call.
