What we're trying to do

Nepal's digital public infrastructure — health, identity, payments, procurement, transport, education — is being built right now. Devs.Nepal exists so the country's strongest engineers can find that work, claim a slot, and ship it with a verified record that follows them.

How it works

• Ministries & reviewers post discrete pieces of work as Projects. Each carries a clear scope, tech stack, required skills, and timeline.
• Verified developers claim a slot and contribute through git.pmdevcore.gov.np. Verification uses your government ID and resume; a reviewer signs off.
• Citizens propose ideas at Ideas; the community votes and the strongest move into the project pipeline.
• Everyone can read the community feed, see the talent directory, and follow what's being shipped.

Principles

• Verifiable identity, public work. Real people, real names, real commits.
• Open by default. Specs, decisions and most code happen in public.
• Bilingual by design. Every interface ships in English and नेपाली.
• Security as a feature. WAF, ClamAV-scanned uploads, signed webhooks, hardened nginx, regular pentests.

Who runs it

Devs.Nepal is operated by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), together with contributing ministries and the open-source community.
