Devs.Nepal is operated by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM), Government of Nepal. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
1. What we collect
- Account basics — name, email, district, preferred language, account type.
- Verification documents — government ID (NID, citizenship, or passport) and a CV. Stored encrypted; access is audit-logged.
- Profile information — bio, avatar, self-declared skills, optional links.
- Activity — projects you claim, ideas you propose, votes, comments, feed posts, reactions.
- Technical metadata — IP address, user agent, timestamps — for security logging only.
2. How we use it
To verify your citizenship, render the platform on your behalf, attribute your published work to your handle, detect and block abuse, and produce aggregate statistics that don't identify individuals.
3. What we never do
- Sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- Share verification documents with anyone outside authorised reviewers.
- Disclose the identity of the official who posted a ministry project.
- Send marketing messages — only platform-action emails (verification, claims, etc.).
4. Retention
- Active accounts — for as long as the account is active. You can delete from your profile settings.
- Verification documents — kept while verification is valid. We purge on request once no longer relied on.
- Public contributions — published projects, ideas, posts, and comments remain as part of the public record.
- Security logs — 12 months.
5. Your rights
- Access and download your data.
- Correct errors on your profile.
- Delete your account.
- Object to specific processing — write to the contact below.
6. Cookies
Functional cookies for authentication and language preference only. No third-party advertising or tracking.
7. Security
TLS encryption in transit, hardened nginx headers (HSTS, CSP), an in-process web-application firewall, ClamAV scanning on every upload, and signed webhook receivers. Verification documents are stored encrypted at rest on government-operated infrastructure inside Nepal.
